There was lots of pond hockey on the Manorburn dam. But of course, I and anyone else with a camera was playing in it! So I don’t have any photos of me playing ๐ But here’s some action photos of the others.

Trip to the Manorburn Dam
After some wickedly cold temperatures in Alexandra, I took Sarah, Jane and Kara through to Alexandra to go skating on the Manorburn dam. This was the first time I’d skated on it since I was about 12! Stu McLennan has kindly lent me the former Matt Mobile while he’s away in Australia which we used to make our way to the dam. Thanks very much Stu ๐
Ice coverage was pretty decent, up to about 15cm in some parts.
Some people were even skating right up to the edge of the dam. But I didn’t have the guts to try that!

Dunedin Bears
Well, we didn’t exactly set the league alight, but we had lots of fun and fought our way galiantly to last place in the Autumn 2007 Dunedin Ice Hockey League B-grade. Here are some photos taken by Joe Sales of my team the Bears. Thanks to Joe for letting me post them here.
I’m the one in the middle of the photo below. I was pretty wrecked by that stage and enjoying my breather whilst leaning on the boards ๐
This is our goalie, Jaimee Wood, she was totally awesome all season long and was the star of our team. A future superstar goalie in the making.

Beasts in the Easton Cup
I played for the Dunedin Beasts in the Easton Cup. I also dragged our superstar ring-in Jenel Bode to play with us ๐ Unfortunately she got injured and only played one and a bit games ๐ We got totally thumped in every game. Was lots of fun though and I can’t wait for the rest of the season!

Jenel Bode comes to Dunedin!
Woot! Got a lift back to Dunedin from Christchurch with my old hockey coach Jenel Bode who I’m hoping will take a job with the Dunedin Ice Hockey Association as a professional hockey coach/skating instructor. We stopped off at the Moeraki boulders on the way.
Yvette and I took her up onto the chemistry department roof to show her the city from up high.

Hockey in Alexandra
I went to Alexandra for a round of the Southern League ice hockey championship and took some photos of the Maniototo vs Queenstown Stars game. The lighting was awesome, so all the photos came out well ๐
