  • define: bodge job

    Berlin summers feel a little like hanging out in Satan’s anus. To make matters worse, ze Germans don’t seem to believe in air conditioning.

    Thankfully, the gods invented cheap portable air conditioners, so I bought one ready for last summer. The pipe it came with was too short to reach my living room though so I was only able to have it blow the cold air towards my living room. The pipe is also not insulated, so a lot of the heat leaks back into my kitchen, ironically leaving my kitchen hotter than it would be without the air conditioner.

    This was annoying the crap out of me today, so I headed to the hardware store. Some duck tape and budget ventilation tubing later and I had a lengthened exhaust pipe 🙂 Then I wrapped the pipe up in spare bedding, and now my kitchen is 10° C cooler and my living room (which I was actually trying to cool) is at a perfect 20° C. Mission accomplished 🙂

  • Karting with Aron and James

    James stopped off to visit, so us and Aron went karting together. I came last. I’m slightly bitter about the result lol.

  • Grunewald hike

    I organised my first post/mid-Coronapocalypse hike after laws were dropped limiting the number of attendees. It was great to get back out in nature again with so many new cool people 🙂

  • Corona office

    I’m unfortunately having some technical difficulties with the air conditioning in my office today. It’s too hot. Thankfully this office comes with it’s own pool, so I might take a dip shortly to cool off.

    In case anyone is wondering … the law changed here to say that people are allowed to stop and rest whilst exercising. So I rode my bike here and just set up camp for the day as my rest break 🙂 I suspect this was not what they had in mind when they made this law change, but I’m embracing it 🙂

  • Self driving bus

    I took my very first ride on a self driving bus! It wasn’t very smart, and it often got confused and once even stopped because a leaf blew in front of it. But it was still cool to experience this technology first hand. Hopefully I’ll be reading this again in the future, whilst whizzing across town in a self-driving bus and laughing about how quaint it was back in the days when humans were trusted to drive vehicles manually.

  • Meeting R2D2

    I met R2D2 today. He seems like a pretty swell guy. I was surprised how big he is, but I guess it makes sense that he’s a bit chunk since Kenny Baker needed to fit inside him.
