I went on a cycle tour to Bernau today. We took an awesome route on super smooth roads. The total distance was 110 km, so I definitely feel tired now 🙂 I do still have a little pep left in my step though, so I’m apparently in better shape than I thought 🙂

    Beelitz-Heilstätten

I went on a bike trip from Berlin to Beelitz-Heilstätten, an abandoned military hospital. This was where Adolf Hitler was unfortunately repaired after having his ball blown off during World War 1. Later, it was used as a Nazi military hospital, and afterwards served as a military hospital for the Soviet Union until the 1990’s. Now it is simply a collection of spectacular ruins.

We were told that we wouldn’t be able to go in as the area was blocked off and not open to individuals. But we just kept walking on into the grounds expecting to see a sign or fence indicating where we weren’t allowed, but never saw anything of the sort.

  • Mountain biking with Melissa

Melissa and I went mountain biking along the Clutha river from Albert Town to Wanaka. We had an awesome time cruising along a sweet little dirt path.

  • Cycling at Albert Town

I went mountain biking while camping at Albert Town with my friend Krissi. The weather was terrific and there were great views of the Hawea river.

  • Central Otago Rail trail

With my leg out of cast, I decided it was time for some serious fitness. So I agreed to do the Central Otago Rail Trail with Anna! It turned out that my leg wasn’t quite as strong as I thought! I had some serious issues getting from point A to point B. But we did make it back to Dunedin safe and sound eventually. We did the 150 km trail in three days and cycled another 20 km to reach the Tairei Gorge train the next day for our trip back to Dunedin. Unfortunately Anna has banned me from putting any photos of her on the web 🙁 So there’s no pretty photos of her to show 🙁
