  • Beelitz-Heilstätten bathroom

These are photos of an old, but once very grand bathroom in Beelitz-Heilstätten, the former military hospital I went to recently.

EDIT: The kind folks over at IFTTT fixed it for me 🙂

The folks over at IFTTT.com have a bug. I can no longer use my domain with it since I changed to hellyer.kiwi 🙁 Hopefully they’ll get it fixed soon 🙂

Sometimes Google outdoes itself with it’s shear awesomeness. I didn’t even need to click a link to get my answer.

    Hiking around Wandlitzsee

I went on a hiking trip around Wandlitzsee, near Berlin. There were some really cool things to see, like mushrooms stuck to a tree, and a tree half chomped to bits by a beaver.

    Beelitz-Heilstätten fridges

Need a fridge? In the Beelitz area? Well, just head on over to the Beelitz-Heilstätten (the old military hospital I went on a cycling trip to recently) and pick up one of these crazy old fridges just kicking about. There’s tons of these things all over the place.

  • Gorinsee by night

This was my view during my bike ride home recently. All I could hear was “Come to the light Ryan! Come to the light!”. So I headed towards the light. I don’t remember much past that.

  • Frozen Karpfenteich

I took these at a small lake a few kilometers from my apartment this evening. Not enough to skate on, but it looks promising if we get a few more frosty evenings.

  • Beelitz-Heilstätten

    Beelitz-Heilstätten

I went on a bike trip from Berlin to Beelitz-Heilstätten, an abandoned military hospital. This was where Adolf Hitler was unfortunately repaired after having his ball blown off during World War 1. Later, it was used as a Nazi military hospital, and afterwards served as a military hospital for the Soviet Union until the 1990’s. Now it is simply a collection of spectacular ruins.

Stairs. Most of the stairs seem fairly stable, but explorers should be darned careful.

Most of the windows are broken.

We were told that we wouldn’t be able to go in as the area was blocked off and not open to individuals. But we just kept walking on into the grounds expecting to see a sign or fence indicating where we weren’t allowed, but never saw anything of the sort.
