Year: 2012

  • Albufeira

Nadia and I visited Albufeira, a small seaside tourist town in Portugal. Nice views. Nice beach. Nice weather. Nice company. All around nice place 🙂

  • Google doc of Norwegian language

Here is a document with all of the stuff I’m trying to learn about the Norwegian language.

  • Marble the chameleon

Meet Marble, the plucky little chameleon I met whilst visiting Nadia near Alcantarilha Portugal.

  • Post workout dinner with Metronetters

Dinner with Erik and Yelitza after going to the gym.

  • WordCamp Lisboa

I attended/spoke at WordCamp Lisboa 2012 in Portugal. It was a great time. Thanks to Zé and the other organisers for putting on such an excellent event.

  • Ma weekend in Norwegian

This is a work in progress … due by Tuesday evening.

    Saturday

I’m not sure how to use “inne” in a sentence at this stage.

    1. Jeg skal går opp gate til hjem
    2. Vi sitter ned parken
    3. Jeg skal ut i morgen
    4. Kom hit!
    5. Jeg sitter på stol i hjemme
    6. Hva er dit?
    7. Hun er ikke her
    8. Han skal går der
    9. Vi skal går ute med to venner

Things I needed to learn to do this.

opp = up (direction); oppe = upstairs
ut = out; ute = outside
hjem = when you are not at home
hjemme = when you are at home

  • Public urination in Norway

I’ve seen some weird shit in my travels around the world, but close to the top has to be the public urination in Norway. I always assumed that going to the toilet in public was something relegated to third world countries, but it seems that it is totally acceptable in Norway! They even have little stall thingies kicking about so you can just flop your wang out and take a slash in the middle of the city. I don’t think they poo in these things, but I didn’t stick around to find out.

The following photo was taken in the Oslo city center at the finishing line for the Oslo Marathon.

Thanks to Yelitza Magarita for taking the photo.

  • Beautiful weather in Oslo

Another beautiful day in Oslo. These crazy Norwegians keep declaring the weather here is crap and that this is the worst summer in a long time. I think they’re all crazy. The summer weather here is far warmer and sunnier than I am used to.

  • Ørfiske with Marte

I went cycling around Ørfiske north of Oslo, Norway with my friend Marte.
