  • Some nice winter photos

Some nice photos I took during the winter of 2011.

Dave Patchett staring out over the neck at the Lower Manorburn dam
Dave Young wandering along during a hoar frost in the Maniototo
  • Getting on thin ice

What do a bunch of skating crazed idiots do when there isn’t enough ice to safely skate on? … they attempt to skate on it anyway …

Dave Young attempting to stand on a stupidly thin sheet of ice on a small pond.
Dave Young utilizing the "hold onto some other idiot" approach to safety.
Edging out onto the ice on a plank of wood.

  • Maniototo by car

Some winter-time photos taken from inside the car whilst travelling around the Maniototo region.

  • Dave Patchett enjoying a casual swim

During a skating trip to Poolburn dam in July 2011, Dave Patchett decided there wasn’t enough ice so took a casual dip underneath it instead!!!

  • Random flat photos from 2011

Some random photos that I didn’t know where else to put …

    Roseanna and Sushi making bread
    Amy at Sushi's 21st party
  • Snow day

We had the biggest snow dump I’ve seen in Dunedin city during 2011. Here are snaps from my camera from that day. Justine and I went to Poppas Pizza’s before going to see some snowboarders and skiers having a lot of fun on the hills.

  • Unholy with Liz

My new friend Liz took me to her favourite hangout “Unholy” in Oslo. Good time had by all.

  • They said winter was over …

The locals told me winter was over and there would be no more snow. Then I awoke to see this outside my bedroom winter …

(this happened quite a few weeks ago, just took me a while to post it)

  • Frogner stadion

Skating trip to Frogner stadion in Oslo. The ice surface was super smooth, the temperatures were high and there was more ice than you could possibly imagine (for a rink). A complete lack of fitness and having not skated properly in around nine months left me pretty much dead at the end of my skating stint.

  • Trip to Hoffmans dam

Whilst staying in Naseby for a hockey tournament, Dave Patchett, myself and Chris Laing walked up in the snow to Hoffman’s dam. The dam was frozen, but not enough to skate on.
